Annual Wastewater Costs Determined by Winter Average Usage

Wastewater costs for 2012 will be determined by the amount of water residents use between December 5, 2011 and March 5, 2012. Late fall and winter water consumption is used to establish wastewater averages because less water is typically used outdoors during this time, and the measurements more accurately reflect indoor household usage of water that is then returned to the wastewater system.

Burn Ban Extended

The Williamson County Commissioners Court approved extending the burn ban for up to 90 days for all of Williamson County beginning July 19, 2011. A person violates this order if he burns any combustible material outside of an enclosure which serves to contain all flames and/or sparks, or orders such burning by others. The burn ban prohibits the burning of household yard waste, such as leaves, grass, brush and other yard trimmings. It also prohibits burning to clear land of trees, stumps, shrubbery, or other natural vegetation. This order may be enforced by any duly-commissioned peace officer.

Williamson County Judge Declares Local State of Disaster; Governor Extends Ban

Properties within Block House Creek are within the City of Cedar Park ETJ. Block House Municipal Utility District contracts with the City of Cedar Park for fire protection in the District. The City has issued a press release advising residents to take precautionary measures to reduce the risk of wildfires and limit damages should a fire occur.
